Victor specializes in creating unforgettable memories through the power of performance.
“The Storyteller’s Approach to Improvisation”
The workshop is a hands-on experience facilitated by clinician Victor Haskins. We will discuss how to learn tunes and we will explore different techniques for expanding one’s improvisational skills and creating cohesive solos that feel like well-told stories that captivate listeners. Participants should bring their instruments so they can perform and work through some concepts with clinician Victor Haskins. Audience members who prefer not to participate directly via playing an instrument will enjoy a “behind-the-scenes” peek at what goes into a well-developed, improvised solo!

Music: Three great artists sharing their experiences. Jacob Vanko, Kyle Davis, and Mads Overy
Jacob Vanko found himself coming into his own as a songwriter in his 20’s. Migrating from Pennsylvania to land in Southeast Virginia, his life experiences to this point painted a curious picture of the world. Social observations, the ugliness of inner struggle, searching and questioning brought an intense quality to his writing. The early seeds of traditional blues, folk, country and bluegrass have collided with the bold sounds of grunge and rock influences forging a poetic, americana songwriter with a furious live stage presence.
Kyle Davis is a Virginia singersongwriter . He has been featured on the cover of billboard magazine, and received five stars in Rolling Stone with several songs that have made it into the top 20 on AAA radio. His music is lyrically reminiscent of Jackson Browne with an internal resonance. “His voice makes you feel every lyric . It can soar or leave you with profound sadness."- London Guardian
Mads is a nineteen year-old local singer/songwriter from Williamsburg. She has recently moved back from Nashville, where she was performing and working on her new music after graduating from the International College of Musical Theatre London. Her original music can be found on Spotify, Apple Music, and all streaming platforms under ‘Mads’ and socials: @madsxo_
